Dr. Musikanth has been practicing medicine since 1986. Known for his genuine commitment, compassion as well as his professionalism and expertise, his journey began in his home land, South Africa.
After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Virology and his M.D., he provided medical care to the impoverished and medically underserved in shanty towns. He later came to the United States and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the LA County USC Medical Center.
Since then, Dr. Musikanth has had a medical practice in Los Angeles focusing on General Internal Medicine and HIV / AIDS. He has been involved in various clinical trials for new HIV treatments as both principle and sub investigator.
Dr. Musikanth served on the Board of AIDS for AIDS for several years before the organization merged with the Serra Project to become the Alliance for Housing and Healing. He continues to serve as an advisor on the Medical Advisory committee.
The City of West Hollywood honored him with the Angels Amidst Award, a commendation to those, who without fanfare, consistently and unselfishly go that extra mile to be of service to humanity. Phillip has also been recognized as one of America’s compassionate doctors, an honor awarded by patients to less than 3% of the nations 720,000 active physicians.
